Iversoft is excited to announce our move to an optional, 4-day compressed workweek.
While COVID-19 has disrupted many elements of our day-to-day lives, it has also allowed us the rare opportunity to rethink how we’re approaching things in the workplace. At Iversoft, we’ve taken this time not to race back to the way things were, but to examine every aspect of how we operate our business and make changes where we feel we can improve the quality of our team’s lives. Many of the changes we’ve made to date have stemmed from very honest conversations with our people, across all levels of the organization, and as a result we’ve gained an understanding of what matters most to them when it comes to workplace structure.
Today, as a further effort to put our people first, Iversoft is extremely excited to announce our move to an optional, 4-day compressed workweek.
Pre-COVID, Iversoft had always offered flexible work schedules and already had a remote work policy in place. Since going completely remote, our team has fully embraced this framework as a part of our business model, and we’ve been blown away by the positive results we’ve seen in all areas – especially when it comes to efficiency. Beyond this, however, we’ve also gained a very real understanding of the human side of running a business. With so much uncertainty surrounding the pandemic and social interactions, we’ve recognized that our people require a new level of flexibility to accommodate family, children, and personal time, and prioritize their mental health and overall well-being. With this in mind, we’ve committed to a compressed workweek (Monday–Thursday) as our new foundation.
With flexibility as the foundation of this approach, employees will have complete control over the structure of their schedule. As long as core meetings are attended, and everyone respects the philosophy that the office is “closed” on Fridays, staff can opt for whichever variant of the workweek they prefer including a compressed four-day, the traditional five-day, or even a six-day workweek. Furthermore, individuals are given flexibility throughout the workday to manage breaks and obligations as needed. There’s also no commitment when choosing a schedule: it can be done on a week-by-week basis so that everyone has the flexibility they need.
Not only does this increase in flexibility have apparent positive effects for our people, some experts and researchers also suggest that happier people are generally more productive – so as a bonus, it’s not just great for our employees, it’s good for our business and our clients too. As has always been the case, Iversoft is dedicated to providing consistent and effective communication to all of our clients to ensure their business goals are met – and it’s important that our clients know that this increase in flexibility within the organization doesn’t change that.
At Iversoft, we recognize that our people are our single most valuable resource. We believe that ensuring flexibility and accommodation for their personal lives is not just the way of the future – it’s the right thing to do. We fully commit to working with our team to further refine our business and workplace structure, so that we best support and empower our people to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
